The word "touring" has many meanings, but this time we will concentrate on it in the sense of a racing car competition. The Cupra e-Racer is the world's first electric touring car. It seems that the new Cupra brand will not only surprise with a few concepts in Geneva, but also with an all-electric racing car.
Little is known about the electric racing car Cupra e-Racer, but we know for sure that he will have rear wheel drive and 402 horsepower. It will be possible to change the parameters of the electric motor and adjust the output power up to 670 horsepower. The Cupra e-Racer is more than obvious based on the Leon TCR, except that he gave up on the internal combustion engine and instead came up with an idea electric. Compared to the Leon TCR, its electric version has gained 300 kilograms of weight, because of this, its arrangement is also different, namely 40 : 60 in favor of the rear of the car. Regenerative braking returns some energy to the capacity battery 65 kWh.
The Cupro e-Racer still has a lot of testing to do before it's ready to compete on an equal footing with other athletes. At the moment, there are no known data either, how far can we even travel in racing driving mode. But if Formula E has already established itself well, it is only a matter of time before we will follow the almost unheard of touring competition.
