In February, the top Canadian dance ensemble Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal comes to the stage of Cankarjev dom, playing with the interweaving of classical ballet with undertones of modern dance genres.
The ensemble has been active since 1972, when there was a desire to create modern jazz masterpieces on stage, and the general public was attracted to the inspiring group in 1998, when a well-known artistic director took them under his wing Louis Robitaille. Today, a group of exceptional dancers explores openness to all dance and other artistic genres in their astonishing repertoires, interweaving classical ballet, modern dances, jazz technique, theater, visual effects and even elements of circus performance.
They come to the Ljubljana stage with a bundle of perfection of three diverse choreographies Zero One, Night Box and Harry, which, through the refined aesthetics of movements and surreal stories, infuse the audience with warm feelings of the magic of the pleasure of dance art.
