David Bowie: Farewell, Pop Culture Icon!

If three days ago we were looking forward to the new studio album of the cult British musician David Bowie, Blackstar, then today we were saddened by the news that the singer died at the age of 70 after an 18-month battle with cancer. The legendary singer and icon of pop culture has written himself into the hearts of his fans as one of the greatest artists of all time.

The news on Bowie's death was confirmed by his public representative, and it was published on Facebook, where they wrote: "David Bowie died peacefully surrounded by his family today after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer. Although many of you will be mourning him, we ask that you respect the privacy of his relatives during this difficult time."


About David Bowie's illness did not speak in public, so the news was all the more shocking and no one expected that they would just three days after the release of his studio album, Blackstar, lost an icon, role model and inspiration.
