Divergent 3D is startup a Los Angeles company that did the world's first 3D-printed hypercar. Divergent 3D Blade is beast with 720 horsepower, which was made with the help of technology that is otherwise used in aviation and space industry. The 3D-printed chassis weighs only 46 kilograms, and are used for its 'printing' aluminum and highly resistant carbonic fibers.
The Blade is a road-legal four-wheel-drive hypercar whose design was inspired by the image hunting planes. They assigned a seat to the driver in the middle of the car, because it further confirms the connection with the aviation industry. Blade is an excellent demonstration of what 3D technology can do for us already enables, and in addition, the production of such a car is significant cheaper and above all faster.
Company Divergent 3D was generously supported financially by millionaire Li Ka-Shing from Hong Kong - they managed to collect 65 million US dollars for the construction of a factory that will manufacture parts for the automotive industry. The chassis 3D printing technique focuses on aluminum joints, which connect pipes, made of carbon fiber. Assembling thus takes only something minutes, and thus strongly we reduce pollution, consumption material and expenses works.
