A homemade scented candle is always a nice gift.

During the holidays scented candles are even more popular, and if you don't feel like baking cookies this year, you can fill your home with the scent of a homemade scented candle. Find out how to make it below.

To make a scented candle you need:

  • store-bought wax, but you can also use wax from a regular candle
  • one small and one large container
  • kitchen thermometer (the temperature must not exceed 65 degrees Celsius)
  • mold or wax casting model
  • waxed cord (for the wick)
  • etheric oils
  • dyes

The process of making a scented candle:
Heat water in a larger container and place a smaller container in it. Put wax in it. The wax must be melted in steam, especially if you use beeswax. When it melts, add a few drops of essential oil and food coloring. Stir until all the ingredients are mixed. Remove the pan from the heat. Pour the melted wax into a mold previously coated with oil. Place the string for lighting in the middle (you can help yourself with a straw that you place in the middle of the model before pouring) and cut it a centimeter above the candle. Wait eight hours for the candle to cool completely. Unmold (or not). To preserve the scent of the candle, wrap it in transparent foil.
