Birdhouses are not only a pleasant shelter for birds, but also an object of admiration. It is important to make sure that we offer the right size house for the birds that we want to "winter", but at the same time, assembling the birdhouse allows us to unleash all our creativity and offer our feathered friends a stylish residence. Here are some ideas and tips on how to make a nice and good gesture this winter and enjoy it.
You must have already accumulated some "junk" that you want to get rid of in one way or another. Old buttons, candlesticks, ashtrays, handles, old teapots, mailboxes, etc. they can become quite useful in furnishing the birdhouse, and at the same time they will make your houses look fantastic. In addition, birdhouses will not even be a big financial burden. All you need is some wood, a hammer, nails, some screws, wood glue, sandpaper, scissors and a drill with bits. It doesn't hurt if you have a saw in stock and, of course, accessories of one kind or another, that will brighten up your birdhouse. You can use many materials for the frame of the house itself - branches, old candlesticks, ashtrays, teapots, mailboxes, old shoes, etc. For the roof you can add metal, rubber or fabrics – use any material that does not allow water to pass through. Even if it's all you have faded umbrella fabric, you can stretch it on the roof and add moss to bring it all to life. The birds will thank you.
Of course, you can add to the house they are still going and decorate it to your heart's content. Just make sure that the perch is set back far enough so that you don't give various predators a chance to steal the birds' eggs or the birds themselves.

What is the easiest way to make a wooden birdhouse?
1. Place and glue the house, without the bottom. Smooth the inside with emery paper and sprinkle a little sand. Pay special attention to the hole where the birds enter and exit.
2. Drill ventilation holes in the bottom panel of the house. Smooth with sandpaper and sand on both sides of the board. Add the bottom to the house, but do not glue yet.
3. Paint the house. Do not paint the interior - keep it as natural as possible. When the base coat is dry, lightly go around the surface with sandpaper to prepare it for the final coats of paint.
4. Now you can glue the house together and add decorations.
