Vipava
The Majerija homestead is an idyllic upper Vipava homestead hidden among vineyards and orchards. A calm and authentic environment, home-made food and the best Vipava wines are definitely the right recipe for relaxation and pampering. In the cabin, at an oak farmhouse table, we will be served specialties such as duck pate with quickly fried figs and summer herbs, or homemade ravioli stuffed with baby stuffing and topped with tomato sauce and fried mint. They offer simple traditional cuisine with a touch of modernity and ensure that the food is always prepared from natural ingredients. In the spring and summer months, they look around the Mediterranean with seasonal foods and kitchen style, and then we can try home-made herbal noodles in a sauce of two tomatoes, basil and zucchini flowers, pork fish in a mint and acacia honey crust, the softest foamed cottage cheese with forest fruits and local elderflower sorbet. Autumn and winter in Majerija bring us the smell of Austro-Hungarian cuisine, where we will certainly not be able to resist Nonna Marija's beans, Vipava millets in a sauce of sausages and beans, duck breast in a sauce of cranberries and fresh lavender, or persimmon jelly with wine shodo and roasted almonds. If we stopped at the homestead and only have time for a snack or a glass of wine, they will seat us in the hayloft, where we can have a snack or refresh ourselves in a relaxed atmosphere. Those who take a whole day for a trip to Majerija can use it after lunch to visit wineries, walk through the Vipava countryside or do some other activity. » Domačija Majerija, Slap 18, Vipava Phone: (05) 368 50 10 Opening hours: Friday, Saturday, Sunday and holidays, lunch from 12 noon to 3 p.m., dinner from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
