DOXA SUB 750T Clive Cussler: How to get rid of 2 millimeters and become a diving legend

The diving giant is back in style – slimmer, bolder and still orange as an orange!

DOXA has revived the SUB 750T for Clive Cussler's birthday. The new model is now 2 mm thinner around the waist, but is still robust enough to be thrown overboard. The limited edition DOXA SUB 750T Clive Cussler, steeped in story and adventure, is quickly becoming a coveted item among collectors and sea lovers.

DOXA SUB 750T Clive Cussler – let's see! Clive Cussler He wasn't just a writer who could bring shipwrecks and lost treasures to life; he was a man who also made a watch his companion. Well, almost literally. Ever since someone slipped an orange DOXA SUB 300T into his hands in the 1960s, the watch has become more than just a diving accessory – it has become a symbol of the heroes of his novels, with whom the world has explored lost cities, ships and civilizations.

And now, on his 94th birthday, he DOXA pulled another of its legendary divers out of the drawer – the SUB 750T. But this time with a significant change: they took almost two millimeters of thickness out of it, thus ensuring that the watch no longer looks like you're wearing a tuna can on your wrist.

Thin is beautiful again – even at 750 meters deep!

While the original SUB 750T from 2005 had almost everything a true diver’s watch needs – water resistance to an absurd 750 meters, excellent readability underwater, and that charismatic orange color – there was one problem: its 14mm thickness. It practically felt like a metal ring on the wrist that you’d expect to find in a medieval torture chamber rather than on the hand of a casual diver.

But in Clive Cussler's new performance, DOXA almost a miracle: they reduced the thickness to 11.95 mm. And if two millimeters doesn't seem like a lot to you, try comparing it to switching from a winter jacket to a summer jacket - the difference is dramatic!

What does the new SUB 750T Cussler hide?

This thinner, slimmer, and much sexier SUB 750T comes in the classic orange dial color that Cussler popularized decades ago. Inside, it's powered by a Sellita SW300 Swiss automatic movement with a 56-hour power reserve, enough time to remember to wind it again after a long weekend.

The dial cleverly features special dates, such as July 15, 1931 (Cussler’s birthdate), and the logo of NUMA – the research organization founded by Cussler himself. Under the cover, there is also a compass rose that, with the words “truth, mystery, discovery and adventure”, describes the life Clive lived, making it clear that this watch is not just another piece of diving metal, but a treasure trove of stories.

What about a bracelet? Beads of rice or NATO – why not both?

The set also comes with the iconic "beads of rice" bracelet, which is so comfortable you can wear it even during an afternoon nap, and an additional orange NATO strap, which is there for those who want to scream: "Yes, I'm on vacation!"

It all comes in a box that resembles a Clive Cussler expedition diary. Nice.

Price and Availability – DOXA SUB 750T Clive Cussler – this is where the story ends (or begins?)

The DOXA SUB 750T Clive Cussler watch will cost approximately $2,990 (CHF 2,690), which means it will be lighter on your wallet, but much cooler on your wrist. The watch is available exclusively on DOXINA's website, but only in 94 pieces - as many as the year of the birthday boy's birth. If you think this series will be waiting for you, you may have read too few Clive Cussler novels.

Conclusion: two millimeters that count for more than two kilometers

The new DOXA SUB 750T Clive Cussler is not just an upgrade; it’s a tribute to life, history and the little details that make big stories. Two millimeters less in thickness is actually two millimeters more charisma, elegance and – let’s be honest – a lot less pain when you bang your watch against the door of your Land Rover.

If you're ready to dive into the depths of stories and the ocean, this orange legend is right for your wrist.
