Think back to 2022 – when Jeep first hinted that it was working on an electric SUV. Back then, we raised our eyebrows in skepticism, but today we can safely say: The Recon 2026 is here and ready to redefine the concept of "Trail Rated". And without the noise of the engine. Because who says you can't conquer the off-road without disturbing the squirrels at the same time?

First version Jeep Recon 2026, coming to the roads – well, mostly outside roads – is Recon MoabEquipped with two electric motors, it develops impressive 478 kilowatts (650 horsepower) and what 840 Nm of torque. The result? Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (0–60 mph) in small quantities 3.6 secondsYes, you read that right. An SUV that overtakes you before you can even say “overlanding.”

The Recon isn't just muscular – it's smart too. System Selec-Terrain in Moab trim offers five driving modes, including the obligatory “Rock Mode” – because why would an electric car be boring?

Dimensions: longer, wider, but not more restrained

The Jeep Recon is about 12.7 cm longer (5 inch) from the four-door Wrangler, as 15.2 cm shorter wheelbase (6 inch) – which means more maneuverability and less squeezing in tight corners. It weighs almost 2,775 kilograms (6,112 lbs), which is clearly not a problem at these speeds. Cargo space? Wrangler still has a slight advantage, but Recon offers quite a bit 1,866 liters (65.9 cubic feet) of space with the rear seats folded. There is no information on the classic luggage compartment, but we assume it will be more than 600 liters. Enough for bikes, camping equipment and still room for your ego.

Off-road? No worries – it goes anywhere.

The Moab version – the Jeep Recon – boasts 84-centimeter tires (33 inches), 23 centimeters of ground clearance (9.1 inches), 33.8-degree entry angle, 33.1° exit angle and 23.3° break angleJeep claims that the accelerator pedal has been calibrated to “deliver torque in a controlled and precise manner for the ultimate off-road experience.” Translated: you won’t just slide over rocks, you’ll drive like a boss.

Front and rear, Recon has electrical differentials, the last one even with an electronic lock and a brutal 15:1 gear ratio, and in front 11:1 with open differential. Digital power, physical dominance.

Design: Jeep remains Jeep – with a little light magic

Even though there is no longer an engine under the hood, Jeep does not compromise on its identity. Characteristic seven-slat mask remains – this time illuminated – and together with the U-shaped LED headlights, it gives the Recon a futuristic, but not too space-like, look.

And behind – Wrangler-style LED lights, swing gate tailgate and spare tirebecause real off-roading doesn't come without a real spare.

Modularity: doors, roof, windows – everything goes away

Like the Wrangler, the Jeep Recon lets you remove the doors – which have modular storage panels –, the rear side windows and even the rear door glass. Roof? The standard one is panoramic with two glass panels, but an electrically sliding one is also available. Sky One-Touch Power Top, for those who want the breeze in their hair on a mountain pass.

Cabin: digital elegance and camping-ready sound

The Recon's interior is no less striking: it has vertically positioned 12.3-inch screen for the driver and 14.5-inch infotainment screen with the latest system Uconnect 5Buttons? There aren't any – the digital age is here, even for air conditioners.

Sound? Alpine sound system with hidden speakers under the seats, for those moments when you decide you need to play some AC/DC in the middle of a canyon.

Frunk and cargo: space for hand luggage too

In addition to the rear trunk, the Jeep Recon also has a front one – frunk, with 85 liters (3 cubic feet) of space, just right for carry-on luggage or a camping stove. Jeep also thought about practicality.

Technology under the hood

Jeep Recon uses STLA Large platform, which is also found in Dodge Charger Daytona EV and Jeep Wagoneer S. It gives him energy 100.5 kWh battery pack, which should enable up to 400 kilometer range (250 miles). Top speed? 180 km/h (112 mph). But really, why would you need that on gravel?

When does it arrive and how much will it cost?

Production begins at the beginning 2026 in a Mexican factory Toluca, first comes to market in the USA and Canada, global exports will follow. Prices? Jeep is keeping quiet for now. But considering everything the Recon has to offer – it won't be exactly cheap. But hey, at least gas won't be your problem anymore.

Below the Line_ Legend in e-version, without compromise

Jeep Wrangler 2026 is proof that an electric SUV can retain the character, ruggedness and relentlessness of a classic Jeep. With its power, smart design and off-road capability that would make even the most diesel-powered vehicle the envy of the road, it proves that electrification is not the end – but a new phase of adventure.

So if you're one of those who would rather sit under a pine tree than in an office, and have always dreamed of a quiet but brutally powerful companion – the Recon could be your new favorite way to escape. No smoke, no noise. Just you, nature… and 650 electric horses.
