The unusual exhibition Hidden - Revealed (from October 6 to 31, 2016) is currently on view at the Creative Gallery, which reveals what is usually hidden from view. On it, the artist and photographer Bojan Sobočan, who has been creating casts of children's legs and arms and pregnant bellies for years, exhibits casts of the most intimate part of the female body - the vagina.
An artist from Murskosobo Bojan Sobočan is in Maribor Creative Gallery at the exhibition Hidden - revealed put on display vaginal casts, 14 to be exact. With them, he discovers what is usually left to the imagination. Humans are curious creatures by nature, and we are usually most attracted to what is out of reach or hidden from view. It was also a 'building block' half a year long project, which the author says was just getting to know and learning, while he didn't even know if he would get models or if it would even be feasible. And how were the casts made?
The whole process was completely painless and lasted 30 minutes. A cast of the vagina was made from a silicone mixture, which the artist applied to the intimate area. This hardened in a few minutes, and he fixed everything with plaster bandages. Everyone is unique. They are castings different sizes and shapes, as models of different ages 'posed' for him.
