Until the beginning of December, you can enjoy the scents of the exhibition prepared by Jannis Kounellis in the City Gallery.
Italian artist of Greek descent Jannis Kounellis became famous at the end of the sixties as one of the most prominent representatives of the movement that the critic Germano Celant called Arte Povera. The so-called poor art established a critical attitude towards established institutions in art and society.
In his works, Kounellis has preserved the characteristic aesthetics of this movement to this day. Ambient installations made of everyday objects and materials, such as bottles, glasses or even cinnamon, pepper and coffee, transform the gallery into a pleasant and eye-pleasing space that offers the visitor many pleasures of sensory perception. The current exhibition, as well as his artistic activity, is characterized by the exploration of the exhibition space and the use of it only as a stage on which fiction and reality intertwine.
You are cordially invited to the premises Ljubljana city galleries on Tuesday, October 29, at 5 p.m., where he will take us around the exhibition art critic Brane Ković.
