Pravljica is the first and largest educational farm with rescued animals in Slovenia. In Pravljica, many animals have found a new and loving home, from horses, bulls to piglets, which are cared for by the Lavrič family of seven.
Farm Pravljica on Škofljica is that place under the sun where good energy and peace reign. Its human inhabitants live in harmony with animals. Pravljica is an educational farm of peace, a place where even animals can enjoy the beauty of life. The animals are free and respected on the farm, and many have found a new home here after experiencing the stuffy and dark fate of many farm animals.
Coexistence of animals and humans
The life of the seven-member Lavrič family is dictated by nature and animals, which they also want to pass on to the visitors of Pravljica. They strive to connect man with himself, with nature, with animals, because they are convinced that there is no other way to create a bright future for humanity. They joyfully spread their vision among people, which is why Pravljica is a kind of educational farm, where visitors of all ages, but especially children, are welcome. It is for this purpose that they organize family fairy-tale weekends, fairy-tale camps, cooking camps and fairy-tale birthday celebrations, where visitors are joined by many animals from the Fairy Tale. At the moment, more than 90 rescued dogs live on the farm.
The story of Theodore the Pig
One of these rescued souls is Teodor the piglet. "Pigs are extremely interesting animals. Friendly, smart, playful, passionate and cuddly. Even Teodor, a normal breeding pig, with his two cents in weight, is no exception. But his arrival in the fairy tale was exceptional. He managed to jump out of a moving truck full of piglets on the way to the slaughterhouse. He lay down in the ditch and waited for a solution. That was 5 years ago," say his new friends in Pravljica. Now Teo enjoys freedom in the company of the other piglets, in his house, digging the garden and muddy puddles. He prefers dirty garden chores and food, after which an afternoon siesta is mandatory. He likes to sunbathe and make himself a shadow with his huge ears. Despite his size, he is a completely benevolent giant who is always happy for friendly hands to pet and cuddle.

Help for the inhabitants of Pravljica
Visitors are welcome every Saturday between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. "In a fairy tale, everyone can now find what they need, in the way that is most suitable for them. Relaxation, knowledge, inspiration and power for action. Come and join us on the journey of life and you will again find your fairy tale worth living," reads the encouragement that comes from Pravljica. But since happiness always comes from what we give, and not from what we get, finally, an invitation to help the Fairy Tale. By November 31, the seven-member family that takes care of Pravljica must collect 150,000 euros to buy the farm, otherwise they will lose their home.
