When you think of electric vehicles, you might first think of quiet sedans or city cars. However, with its latest model, the Fisker Alaska, Fisker is pushing the boundaries and entering the world of electric trucks with the promise of being the lightest and most sustainable on the market.
Fisker, known for its innovative solutions in the automotive industry, recently revealed the details of its Alaska electric truck. This marvel of technology will be based on a modified Ocean platform called the FM31 and boasts an impressive range of up to 547 km (340 miles).
At the event Fisker Product Vision Day, where they also presented themselves Pear electric hatchback and Ronin's super GT, is the CEO Henrik Fisker emphasized that it will Alaska the lightest electric truck on the market. And not only that, it will also be the most sustainable. The Ocean boasts a vegan interior design and ethically sourced materials, so we can't wait to see how Fisker brings that to the Alaska.
But if you think that's all, you're wrong. Alaska also has the so-called Houdini trunk. It is a middle barrier that electronically folds and disappears under the floor. When this bulkhead is lowered, the length of the cargo area is extended from 1.37 meters (4.5 feet) to 2.8 meters (9.2 feet).
While most manufacturers focus on basic features, Fisker adds some unique extras that you won't find anywhere else. Have you ever wanted a holder for your "big gulp" drink or even a special place for your cowboy hat? Alaska has it covered. For those who like to multitask while driving, there is also a retractable tablet holder for the passenger. Fisker really thinks outside the box!
Two battery capacities will be available to power this technological marvel: 75,0 and 113.0 kilowatt hours. The first one promises reach 370 km (230 miles), and the other to 547 km (340 miles).
When it comes to power, Fisker does not disappoint. Their top-of-the-line model, the Ocean Extreme, boasts a twin engine and all-wheel drive that produces just 550 horsepower (HP), while the base version is equipped with 275 HP. Although the official numbers for Alaska have not yet been revealed, we can expect them to be in a similar range. And if you're wondering about speed? Fisker has revealed that the truck will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0-60 mph) in a range of 3.9 to 7.2 seconds, suggesting that acceleration time will depend on the variant and configuration chosen.
And while current electric trucks like the Ford F-150 Lightning and Rivian R1T are considerably more expensive, it will Fisker Alaska with its starting price of 45,400 the $ set a new standard of affordability.
