The Bronco is definitely making a comeback, and here the "monster" is created for rally Baja, which is also a platform for the road Bronco.
Ford Bronco is a line of SUVs produced by Ford from 1965 to 1996. It is one of the first compact SUVs that are slowly dominating the car market today. The popularity of the Bronco has always been high in America, and you most likely heard of it because of the world-famous prosecution of OJ Simpson, who owned a fifth-generation white Bronco.
Over the years, Ford has repeatedly hinted at a new generation of Bronco. Ever since the Ford Bronco Concept was introduced in 2004, fans of Ford's semi-trucks and SUVs have been waiting impatiently. And now Ford Performance has revealed its Baja rally truck, the Bronco R prototype. This is more than just an off-road monster, it also serves as a development platform for the new production Bronco.
Of course, a production car must also shine on the road. Ford says the new Bronco R prototype (and the 2020 Ford Bronco as well) sits on Ford's T6 architecture, which is the same as the To Ranger. They haven't revealed anything specific about the engine yet, but they said it's an engine Turbo EcoBoost yet the most representative of what the Bronco was supposed to offer. Based on this, we can conclude that the Bronco will have a similar engine to the model F150 Raptor.
