On the shores of Lake Michigan, Ford mixed sunsets, dunes, and Bronco—the result is two “one-off” projects that aren’t really special editions, but rather a recipe. It’s all in the catalog. This is the Ford Bronco Silver Lake Dunes.

Bronco Silver Lake Dunes and Bronco Sport Silver Lake Dunes are factory “show cars”, built to show how far you can go with Ford Performance and Ford Accessories – no hidden welding magic. Ford doesn't sell anything in packages, but offers inspiration + part numbersIn short: you can imitate.

Sand under the wheels: tires and rims

The big one Bronco (4-door) stands on black lacquered Heritage rims, fitted with BFGoodrich All‑Terrain T/A KO3 – a newer generation of the legendary KO2 with more than 100 dimensions by 2026 and improved durability on gravel and better grip on snow. Bronco Sport but gets visual high-five in the form of 19-inch white rally wheels with Mustang Mach‑E Rally – yes, the ones with 235/55 R19 that look like they escaped from the 80s.

Light, brackets and bull bars

The list includes Rigid light strips from the program Ford Performance (40-inch SR/Radiance kits with brackets and cable harnesses), bull bar it is identical to the standard Bronco Sport Badlands – so nothing “show-only”. They stand on the roof Yakima SUP board holders (two up to 36″ wide). All in all – and this is key – normally available for order.

Why Silver Lake?

Because it is Silver Lake Sand Dunes a kind of Bronco “backyard training ground”: sand, wind and views, where the Bronco has been home for 60 years of tradition. This year, Ford is also celebrating its anniversary with a special 60th Anniversary marking the same dunes – a context in which this duo with summery graphic stickers acts as a postcard on four wheels. “It wouldn’t be a Bronco if it wasn’t open,” summarizes the design team's philosophy of quickly removing the doors and roof.

Mechanics: serial, i.e. proven

Big Bronco remains what it is: boxy, hairy and technical plug-and-play for off-road upgrades. The factory offers a 2.3-liter EcoBoost (300 hp / 224 kW, 325 lb‑ft / 441 Nm) or 2.7‑liter V6 (330 hp / 246 kW, 415 lb‑ft / 563 Nm), 7-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission and up to 11.5″ (292mm) ground clearance with the Sasquatch package. Water? The Bronco goes to 33.5″ (851mm)Geometry at its best: 47.2°/30.8°/40.5° (approach/ramp/departure).

Bronco Sport remains a compact cousin based on crossover architecture, but in the Badlands version it is still surprisingly robust: 1.5 EcoBoost (180 hp / 134 kW, 200 lb‑ft / 271 Nm) or 2.0 EcoBoost (250 hp / 186 kW, 280 lb‑ft / 380 Nm), to 8.8″ (224mm) distance from the ground and to ~24″ (610mm) wading, when properly equipped.

How “catalogue-like” are they really?

Very. Where many would show a concept with exotic parts, Ford chose the user route: Heritage wheels (painted black on the large Bronco), KO3 tires, Rigid lights, bull bar from the series and Yakima The sunset charts over the hips can be copied by any good sign makerThe point is not copy, but encouragement: take a base, choose a catalog and make your own dune.

Conclusion: Ford Bronco Silver Lake Dunes

This is not a special series. This is an invitation. Ford is at 60th anniversary Bronze did something we wish we could see more often: instead of a showcase, he put tool roomBoth Silver Lake Dunes The projects act as a sandbox for adults; they show how you can catalog and some imagination, build your own version of a bronze postcard over the lake. Factory warranties remain, you don't hunt for parts on forums, the geometry and wading are still bronze-like serious, and the aesthetics are – finally – more smiling than the angrily frowning headlights elsewhere in the segment. If you're tempted, start with KO3 and Rigid, add Yakima, then over the weekend to the dunes – or at least on the gravel road to the nearest lake. Today, the Bronco is no longer the envy of anyone; playingAnd that – in a world of SUVs that spend too much time in parking lots – counts.
