The Ford Capri is back, but not as you might remember it. This time in an electric guise as a modern SUV coupe that combines retro charm with the future of mobility.

In the 1970s and 1980s, the Ford Capri was a symbol of sporty elegance and a European muscle car. Now, almost half a century later, Ford is reviving this legendary model, but with a modern twist – an all-electric SUV coupe. The new Capri 2024 is a different vehicle, but it retains the spirit of the original that won the hearts of many car enthusiasts.

The new Ford Capri is built on the MEB platform, which it shares with the Ford Explorer and Volkswagen's ID.4 and ID.5 models. As with these models, the Capri brings a high-tech underpinning with excellent performance and impressive efficiency. At the same time, with the true character of Ford, where we believe that driving dynamics will be at the forefront.

Specifications and performance

The Ford Capri will be available in two versions. The basic version has one electric motor with a power of 282 horsepower (210 kW) and a torque of 545 Nm, which enables acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds and a range of up to 627 kilometers (389 miles) according to the WLTP standard. The second, more powerful version has two electric motors with a total power of 340 horsepower (250 kW) and the same torque, which reduces acceleration to 5.3 seconds. This version has a range of up to 592 kilometers (367 miles).

Design and interior

The exterior of the new Capri draws inspiration from the past with a low grille and sharp horizontal headlights, reminiscent of the original models. Nevertheless, the modern coupé silhouette and five doors clearly show that this vehicle is designed for today's needs.

Charging the Capri's battery is quick and efficient. The basic model supports charging up to 135 kW, which allows charging from 10 to 80 % in about 28 minutes. The more powerful version allows charging with a power of up to 185 kW, which shortens the charging time to 26 minutes.
