The Geely Galaxy E8 sets new standards in aerodynamics with a record low drag coefficient, while conquering the European taste and possibly the European market with its stunning design. Is this the new star that will take over the world of electric vehicles? Or just proof that the Chinese have overtaken Europol
It's not long ago when we laughed at Chinese design, but Geely first bought Volvo and then Lotus and acquired a lot of good designers coming from Europe in the global market. This is also why their products look great and we could slowly but surely call them a "good" school of Scandinavian design. Of course, there are little things that sometimes get in the way, but most of the time the Chinese make better and better cars. The Geely Galaxy E8 is the proof. So let's see – Geely Galaxy E8.
Aerodynamic perfection and an interestingly beautiful shape
The Chinese have really hit the nail on the head this time, as the Galaxy E8 sets records with an extremely low drag coefficient of 0.199. Measuring 5,010 mm long, 1,920 mm wide and 1,465 mm high, this aerodynamic masterpiece with a wheelbase of 2,925 mm promises a spacious interior and an extremely smooth ride. The Galaxy E8 is a real eye-catcher with its fast roofline, hidden door handles and popular continuous taillights. Brushed aluminum wheels complete this modern design. The front part of the vehicle with its closed design and sharp, piercing headlights gives the car a distinct and bold image. In addition, the C-shaped DRL lights create a checkered structure that gives the vehicle a wild, unique look.
Voice control and a huge screen
The Galaxy E8 is a true technological masterpiece, incorporating highly advanced technology mounted on the roof that includes LiDAR and cameras for advanced driving assistance. These advanced features enable semi-autonomous driving, which means that the vehicle can independently control acceleration, braking and steering in certain situations. The interior of the car is minimalist, which is inspired by the Galaxy Light concept.
No kidding, it's fast: this is going to be an extremely fast sedan
The Galaxy E8 will be available in several variants, including rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The basic model is equipped with a 400V system and a single rear engine with 200 kW (272 hp), which enables acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.95 seconds and reaches a top speed of 190 km/h. This model has a battery with a capacity of 62 kWh, which provides a range of up to 550 km according to the CLTC standard.
In addition to the base model, Long Range and Smart Driving versions are available, offering greater range and more advanced driver assistance features, including LiDAR sensors, cameras and semi-autonomous driving. All models also include silicon carbide technology in their drive systems and a vehicle-to-charge (V2L) function, which allows the battery to be used to power external devices.
So the Galaxy E8 offers a variety of options to meet the needs of different drivers, from those looking for long range and fast charging to those who want performance and advanced technology features.
