Girard-Perregaux Laureato Absolute Aston Martin F1 Edition: the green prince among watches

When Swiss precision meets British elegance and F1 racing spirit

Girard-Perregaux and Aston Martin have already accustomed us to exclusive timepieces, but this year's F1 edition Laureato Absolute Aston Martin F1 Edition is something special. Less glitz, more style. Limited edition, green details and reliable Swiss movement - this is not a watch, it's a manifesto of speed.

Every time Girard-Perregaux and Aston Martin team up, the watch world pauses for a moment and says, “Okay, we have to see this.” This time, it’s especially interesting. Not because the watch is covered in carbon fiber from past F1 cars (although we saw that last year), and not because it shines like the bodywork of the Valkyrie hypercar (which we admired last month). No, this time it’s something more subtle, more subdued – the Laureato Absolute Aston Martin F1 Edition, but still heavily loaded with racing charisma.

Get to know Laureato Absolute Aston Martin F1 Edition, the latest (and seventh!) creation in the partnership between a Swiss watchmaker and a British automotive aristocrat. Green is back in fashion – but not just any green. We’re talking about Racing Green, a hue that has been as inextricably linked to Aston Martin for decades as Martini is to James Bond.

History that ticks

The Laureato was first introduced in 1975, and although it first came as a quartz model (which meant “smart” in those days), it is now a symbol of mechanical excellence. It was not until 1995 that it received a mechanical movement, but it experienced a real revival in 2016, when GP revived the model as a permanent watch. Three years later, they launched Laureato Absolute, a modern, more robust and bolder version. And now here we are – the Laureato Absolute Aston Martin F1 Edition – on the track with an F1 edition that attracts more attention than Max Verstappen when overtaking.

Green, but not enviably green

The new F1 version is not flashy. No hologram dials or engraved racing wheels. Just a clean, elegant dial in Aston Martin green with tiny lime green accents. The hands are hollow – a homage to Aston Martin’s iconic grille. The seconds hand? A lime green shot. And the date window is nicely framed in green.

And speaking of details – look at the belt. Green FKM rubber strap with a fabric texture, edged in black and with a titanium buckle. Green also appears around the screw-down crown. Subtle, but enough to set the watch apart from the sea of silver and black boredom on the wrists of other mortals.

Swiss heart, British spirit

Under the 44 mm titanium case (and water resistance of 300 m – because why not) beats the in-house automatic movement GP03300, which ticks at a frequency of 4 Hz and offers 46 hours of power reserve. The back cover is closed, but it is adorned with the Aston Martin emblem – simple but eloquent.

Of course it's about limited edition of 88 pieces, meaning collectors will be fighting with the same fervor as seen in the first turn of the Monaco Grand Prix. The price? $14,300  (comparable to euros) – which is a lot, but honestly… An Aston Martin on your wrist is never cheap.

Final plane

The Laureato Absolute Aston Martin F1 Edition is a watch for those who value form over function. It’s not flashy. It’s not for champagne selfies. It’s a watch for those who understand the aesthetics of speed, but wear it with a reserved smile. It’s a Zen approach to luxury watches: less glamour, more story. Whether you love F1, Aston Martin, Swiss movements or just really well-designed things – now you have even more reason to cross the finish line in style.

If Aston Martin made a watch, it would look exactly like this. And if Girard-Perregaux made a racing car, it would tick.

Available now on Girard-Perregaux official website. But hurry – these 88 pieces will drive faster than Lance Stroll at a green light.
