Thus, the current Olympic champions from Innsbruck, the Goitschel sisters, took part in the first match on February 27, 1964.

4. Inspiration for the name competition, i.e. for the Golden Fox, ski jumper Franci Čop and Maribor tourist worker Marjan Kožuh found in the movie Foxhunting, which shows two skiers hunting a fox.

5. The first three are female skiers For 30 years they got fox furs around their necks, they were replaced in 1995 gold brooches made of yellow, white and red gold and with precious stones.

6. The record holder of the Golden Fox is a Swiss skier Vreni Schneider, who won individually eight times. She also holds the record for total wins, with seven.

7. It stood on the podium of the Golden Fox five Slovenian women. Matthew the World in 1988 she celebrated a double victory (slalom + giant slalom), and in 1990 she won the giant slalom. It was in 1991 Nataša Bokal she shared the first place in the slalom with the Austrian skier Petra Kronberger, and in 1994 they stood on the first podium Urška Hrovat and Vreni Schneider. Tina Maze she won the giant slalom in 2005 and the slalom in 2013.

8. "Anthem" of the Golden Foxes is an informal polka written in 1972 by Vinko Šimek. They performed it for the first time at the ski dance in Slavija Marjana Deržaj and Alfi Nipič.

10. The golden fox left its native Maribor for the first time in 1974, when the match was held in Bad Gastein, Austria. The reason was the lack of snow. She moved in 1975 to Jahorina, where the people of Sarajevo organized the European Cup match, and in 1976 it was held for the first time in Kranjska Gora. It was held there in 1988, 1991, 2007, 2012, 2014 and 2018.

11. In 1999, the competition for the Golden Fox became a full member of the association of the most famous matches of the Big 5 World Cup. This association also includes Alta Badia, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Gardena-Greoden, Kitzbeuhel, Kranjska Gora, Schladming, Wengen, Val d'Isere and Cortina d'Ampezzo.
