Grenoble – a French paradise for skiers

When you are in Grenoble, do not miss the following two attractions: La Bastille - the old fortress is one of the most popular attractions. In addition to the fact that the way to it can be very exciting (you can get there by cable car), the view will completely enchant you - in addition to the city in the palm of your hand, you can see the mighty surrounding mountains.

Men may be interested in the partially underground defense system, which served to protect the entire city in the 19th century, while women will relax in French style in restaurants and cafes. Chemin de fer de la Mure – If you are a fan of traveling by train, then you will be happy to set aside two hours for an unforgettable railway experience. On just 30 kilometers of track carved into the mountain, you will drive over 142 bridges and viaducts, through 18 tunnels and past 122 overhangs, which offer breathtaking views. Today, the railway line is only used for tourist purposes.

FOR UNDER THE TEETH
An excellent welcome to the Bastille is also the French cuisine at the famous restaurant Le per' Gras, and an excellent choice for a real French lunch is Restaurant La Panse in the heart of the city. After enjoying the beauty, shops, markets and galleries in the old city streets, you can treat yourself to a gourmet specialty in La Panse: fish delicacy - herring pate with whiskey, warm oysters with young vegetables or veal kidneys with mustard sauce. For those who swear by the classics, they also offer daily menus.

FOR SPENDERS
The old town center also has the most shops - open markets where you can buy local specialties, spices or cheeses, and shopping streets where you can choose between high fashion boutiques or small family shops with antiques. The city streets are full of small bars where you simply have to stop for a cup of hot chocolate while walking.

LIVING
You can camp in Grenoble for as little as a few euros a day, but a single night in a luxury villa can cost more than a thousand euros. You can find a catalog of campsites, apartments, rooms and hotels on the website of Grenoble.

HOW TO GET THERE?
It is approximately 860 kilometers from Ljubljana to Grenoble. You can transport them by car, opt for a panoramic train ride, flying enthusiasts can book your flight with one of the low-cost lines, for example: EasyJet flies from Ljubljana to London Stansted, from there you can take a bus or even a connecting flight to London Luton, from where you can fly to Grenoble.
