The revamped visuals of the Grossmann poster and website for the 11th Fantastic Film and Wine Festival herald an even more fantastic four-day festival, which opens on July 14 with a film of Croatian origin called Number 55.
The first decade Grossmann Festival of Fantastic Film and Wine is over, and the organizers are approaching the new editions with a renewed image. The eleventh edition of the festival dedicated to genre cinematography will cover the idyllic festival location in Ljutomer between July 14 and 18 in fear and trembling, which only Grossmann can cover in a very special way every summer.
In addition to delicious wine tastings, unique art exhibitions, fiery concerts, unusual workshops and discussion round tables, horror, wild, fantasy and cult films will also be in the foreground this year, among which the Croatian action masterpiece will be the first to open the screen. Number 55 the director Kristijan Milić. At last year's film festival in Pula, it received many positive reviews and also won most of the awards, including the big golden arena for the best film. In the film, based on real events, we follow a group of Croatian soldiers who are ambushed in 1991 during a patrol in an improvised armored car. The vehicle is destroyed and the soldiers take refuge in a nearby house. A 24-hour siege begins, during which they desperately resist the outnumbered enemy, waiting for comrades to come to their rescue.
Hungarian black comedy has so far been presented in the competition program for the best feature film Liza the fox fairy the director Károly Ujj Mészáros, which is thus competing for the award for the best feature film Bad cat. Of course, prizes will also be awarded this year Slak's fierce cat for the best short film, Melies D'Argent for the best European fantasy short film, Noisy cat for the best music documentary, Honorable fierce cat for life's work, Wine Champion Fierce Cat for the best wine as chosen by the film guests and the award for the best film Small workshops of terror.
