The series Behind Her Eyes was one of the most anticipated innovations presented to us by Netflix in February. As expected, the series was also among the three most watched series in Slovenia! Many of us watched it in a few hours because of the tense plot and the psychology of the main characters.
The six-episode mini-series follows the life of a young single mother, Louise, who lives a seemingly peaceful life until she has an affair with her superior. By chance, he also meets his wife, with whom he becomes friends at the same time. A toxic love triangle soon turns into a terrifying psychological game based on secrets.
After watching all six episodes, you, like us, are probably craving something equally tense and slightly perverted. We have selected series similar to the Behind Her Eyes series, which will captivate you in front of the small screen for a few hours!
Tell Me Your Secrets (2021– )
The psychological drama series Tell Me Your Secrets, starring Lily Rabe, Amy Brenneman, Hamish Linklater and Enrique Murciano, recently arrived on Amazon Prime. Like Behind Her Eyes, it focuses on three main characters who haunted and bound by a complicated past. Emma is a young woman who has come face to face with a murderer, John is an ex-convict who wants to find redemption, while Mary is a mother who wants to uncover the truth about her mysteriously missing daughter. Their lives intertwine in an unusual way and soon it ceases to be clear who is good and who is bad here.
Bloodline (2015–2017)
The drama series Bloodline focuses on the lives of the Rayburn family, who at first seem like a perfectly normal family, fully integrated into the community in Florida. They are distinguished above all by their great wealth, as they are the owners of the hotel resort, and they are marked by them many family secrets. As they unravel, the action slowly builds to a climax. The series also received special honors for actors Ben Mendelsohn, Linda Cardellini and Kyle Chandler. You can watch the series on Netflix.
Big Little Lies (2017-2019)
We probably don't even need to describe the still relevant and successful series. But if by some chance you still haven't managed to watch it, now is the time, especially if you want to something completely unexpected, with twists and turns. Based on the literary proposal of the same name, the series was filmed by Liana Moriarty, who in 2017 attracted young and old to the small screen with her direction and cast. The series is available on HBO GO.
Quicksand (2019)
It may not resemble the series Behind Her Eyes in terms of plot and characters, but it is definitely full of uncertainty and tension. The Swedish series was based on the novel of the same name, but it brings the events around school shooting in Stockholm. Maja Norberg is suspected of murdering her boyfriend and best friend. The motives that are revealed along the way and everything that happens as the series continues will keep changing your assumptions and conclusions. You can find the series on Netflix.
The Sinner (2017– )
The Sinner caused a real boom among the audience a few years ago, and the enthusiasm has not waned with each new season, as a new story has been presented in each one. The plot follows detective Harry Ambrose as he tries to unravel the mysteries of seemingly very simple cases. Harry is interested in why such simple people committed such horrible crimes. You can watch the series on Netflix.
Mindhunter (2017-2019)
Mindhunter is undoubtedly the most important Netflix hit in recent years. Similar (but deeper) to the Behind Her Eyes series, the plot is mostly based on the psychology of the characters - both the killers and the agents. The series follows the story - based on true events - of two FBI agents who, in the late 1970s, with the help of a doctorate in psychology, started investigate the behavior of serious criminals and discover how and why the environment influences their behavior and their development into terrifying killers.
It is particularly interesting because it draws you into the world of psychological criminology and profiling techniques for murderers and criminals. The series bears the signature of the genius David Fincher, and you can watch it on Netflix.
