Soline - Salty from head to toe

"Lepa Vida stood by the sea, there on the shore you were washing diapers..." says a Slovenian folk song, which has been adapted by many Slovenian poets and was also the inspiration for the naming of the Lepa Vida care line with a typical Salina accent.

Salty indulgence
With the awareness that the sea is a true treasure of natural resources, and a mission to care, preserve and develop Sečoveljska solina landscape park, have developed personal care products under the umbrella brand of Piranska solina Beautiful Vida, which pamper the body and caress the soul and are also available in the Unikat store in Lucia near Portorož. These should, among other things, serve as a reason for us to drive along the coastal highway to the city of flowers − Portorož. The city of rest and entertainment will serve as a springboard for this adventure. Let's park the car in the center of the city and take a walk along the Portorož promenade, observing the displays of colorful shops and other vendors. On the threshold of summer and with the heat in the air, we can treat ourselves to a scoop of ice cream in the morning while choosing our favorite place for a morning cappuccino by the sea. If we decide on the comfort of the chairs and the variety of the offer, the shortlist will definitely be a cafe Cacao, while we also have the nice and simple alternative of lying on the pier and watching the sun rise before the atmosphere fills with the cheerful bustle of the day.

Beautiful Vida.
Beautiful Vida.

Lots of happenings
Let's be careful not to be lulled to sleep by the calm sound of the sea and continue our journey along the coast towards Lucia, to the marina, where various sailboats, boats and barges should stimulate our imaginations for pirate adventures and pull us for a moment into unfulfilled childhood dreams. You can also fulfill your desire for adventure and play when you enter the Lunapark. Let's take a ride with the cars and let's have a breather by carelessly bumping into and overtaking drivers without taking into account the CPP and severe penalties. Let's spin one round on the carousel and jump to the sky on the trampoline. Then jump forward all the way to Camp Lucija, where a new adventure on the go-kart track invites us already on the way, so let's press the gas to the end and through the curves, with appropriate safety equipment and a lot of smarts while driving, of course. Adrenaline will bring drops of salty sweat from under the helmet, which we cool down in the shade of the pine trees on the way to Viva form above the camp. Signposts will help us not to miss the way up the hill. Large sculptural sculptures created by our and foreign artists will confirm from afar that we have come to the right place. Surrounded by green surroundings, the works of art stop time with their power and calm the already heated atmosphere, and we sit for a moment on one of the benches that offer a beautiful view of the bay of the Slovenian coast, albeit short, but precious. But as they say, size doesn't matter, the essence lies in the content. With this thought, let's continue our journey, because there is still much undiscovered ahead of us. We pass an olive grove, over the hill to the other side, where we are surprised by a new impression of nature. A well-known, but always different view of Sečovel salt marshes, which, in addition to its natural wealth, also serves as an inspiration to many artists, who have captured its exceptionality in paintings or artistic photographs, so let's give free rein to our artistic streak, take out the camera from the bag and click the button to seal this moment. Let's take a look around and enjoy the smells and shapes of Mediterranean growth while we descend the hill.

Watch out kaktusss!
... the word is spreading from Cactus garden near a well-known inn Fisherman, where for one euro entrance fee you can enjoy a colorful plantation of cacti from all over the world. Another reason to use our imagination and imagine our summer destination based on the origin of the cactus. Mexico, Costa Rica or Madagascar... why not! But not today, because the path calls us further to the salt pans. The Sečovel salt marshes are like a rich treasure trove of flora and fauna, classified as one of the most important natural heritage in Slovenia. They extend over an area of approximately 650 ha and allow visitors to learn about salt production in detail, visit the Salt House and Museum of salt production. Also, the salt flats are an excellent place for bird watching, and at the same time, there are many walking and cycling paths along it, equipped with information boards, so that we can spend a lot of time in it without getting bored. But by no means do we miss getting to know the Mediterranean delicacies, so on the way back we stop at Pizzeria Santa Lucija in Lucia, where regardless of the choice of dishes, the meal will be delicious and balanced, so an extra pinch of salt will not be necessary this time. And good run!
