Incredibly beautiful vegetation, coral reefs, hidden tunnels and active volcanoes... it's all there Samoa, a Polynesian country located northeast of Fiji. It includes the islands of Savai'i, Upolu, Manona and Apolimo and several small, uninhabited islets. And it is on the island of Upol that there is one of the most unusual places for swimming on our planet.

You will find the most beautiful swimming pool in the world in the middle of a lava field near the village of Lotofaga and close to the spectacular coastline. Sua Ocean Trench, which literally means "big hole", it was created after the eruption of a volcano on the island. You can only access the emerald waters in one place – up a ladder with a small platform. White sand and tropical fish swimming underfoot add to the fairytale atmosphere.

Thanks to the many water channels leading from the ocean to the pool, there is no fear of it drying up. Experienced swimmers can swim through the tunnel and reach the ocean, but this is not recommended for children. The price of a swimming ticket for adults is around 10 euros, children up to the age of seven can swim for free. The money from the tickets is used for the maintenance of roads and the surrounding area.
