Wine cellars in the shape of hobbit houses

Hercegkút is a small, quiet place in the Tokaj wine region in northeastern Hungary. This region is known for producing some of the best sweet wines in the world, including Tokaji Aszú, considered one of the best sweet wines in the world. Visitors to Hercegkút can enjoy picturesque walks through the vineyards, taste local wines and visit many wine cellars and tasting rooms in the area. The fairytale landscape of hills, vineyards and traditional wine cellars will not leave anyone indifferent. The Tokaj region is also the first closed wine region in the world, registered in 1737.

Due to their specific shape and construction, wine cellars are also called Hungarian The Hobbit House. The wine cellars are built in four sets. The characteristic triangular entrance to the cellar is already recognizable from afar. Here, cellars are usually two-story, built below the surface at a depth of 10 to 40 meters.
