How to clean jewelry: pearls

Pearls are delicate gems that require special care to maintain their natural luster and beauty.

Cleaning:

With a soft, damp cloth, gently wipe the pearls after each wear to remove any oils or residue. Avoid exposing pearls to harsh chemicals, perfumes or hairspray as they can damage the surface. To deep clean pearls, mix a small amount of mild soap in lukewarm water. Soak a clean, soft cloth or makeup brush in soapy water and gently wipe the pearls. Wipe the pearls with a damp cloth to remove any soap residue and then with a dry towel. Allow the pearls to air dry completely before storing them in a soft bag or cloth bag to prevent scratches.

How to clean jewelry: silver

Silver jewelry can tarnish over time due to exposure to air and moisture.

Cleaning:

Create a paste by mixing baking soda with water until it forms a thick consistency. Using a soft cloth or sponge, apply the paste to the silver jewelry and rub gently to remove tarnish and dirt. Rinse the jewelry under warm water and dry with a soft towel. For stubborn stains, you can use a silver polish specially designed for jewelry. Using a silver polishing cloth, gently polish the jewelry until it shines. Store silver jewelry in a dry, airtight container or bag.
