Hyundai i20: a refreshed image of Hyundai's little one

With a completely fresh 'face' and some extra technology, the Hyundai i20 is all set for the 2018 model year. The current generation has been on the market since 2014, which means it's about time for a facelift.

The first thing we notice is that it has Hyundai i20 brand new front end. While we are used to normal renovations, where the corrections are purely cosmetic and almost imperceptible, at Hyundai they decided to more thorough renovation. Compared to the outgoing model, the difference is still quite obvious, and the newcomer got more bolder and more modern image. The facelifted i20 will be available in three versions, namely with three or five doors and so-called versions Active. The latter two have received the biggest renovation, as they have a new front fascia and modified rear lights and bumper. New 15- and 16-inch wheels are available as well 10 different colors, of which 3 are new. We can also mention the black roof and the resulting option two-tone bodies.

A rejuvenated look and new color combinations can also be found in the interior of the car. In addition to the cosmetic changes, Hyundai's engineers stayed with the for a long time technology. The i20 has it now 7-inch info-telematic screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. We have the latest technology available Hyundai SmartSense, which includes lane departure warning, collision warning, lane keeping assistant, driver fatigue warning and automatic adjustment of high and low beams.

All versions will have it available liter turbo gasoline motor with 100 horsepower and 5-speed manual transmission. If you choose the version with a 6-speed gearbox, it will have the same engine 118 horsepower. It will also be available for the first time 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. There will be more to choose from 1.2 liter gasoline engine with 73 horsepower and 1.4 liter gasoline engine with 100 horsepower. All engines will have the system start-stop.

The refreshed little one has become even cuter with the renovation and we will be able to admire it on our roads in a few months. It is also talked about to the 'filed' version of the i20 N, but these are just rumors at this point, and we're eagerly anticipating more official information from Hyundai.
