Hyundai – Uber Elevate S-A1: the future of passenger transportation

Uber Elevate and Hyundai have become partners in Uber's vision of the future of passenger transportation. At CES 2020, they jointly presented a 'drone' that will be able to transport up to 5 people.

Hyundai and Uber Elevate presented a flying vehicle named S-A1. A drone-like vehicle can drive 4 passengers and the pilot, but in the future the pilot will no longer be needed, as the 'drone' will be completely autonomous. The vehicle can take off and land vertically, but when it reaches a certain height, it moves to the destination in mostly horizontal directions. The S-A1 reaches a speed of up to 290 km/h and flies at an altitude between 300 and 600 meters. It will be intended for then, long to 100 kilometers, and charging the batteries even in rush hour will only require 5-7 minutes.

The advantage of several smaller rotors is v better agility, but due to its smaller size, reduces also noise. This is particularly suitable for urban centers, most of which are already cross-border noise pollution. Another advantage of Uber Elevate's partnership with Hyundai is that Hyundai is a serious player in the automotive world, and it will actually benefit from the production of Uber's drones. managed to realize.
