People take time for themselves in different ways - especially mothers.
New Zealander Peter Bristow, a father of three, posted a note on his Facebook that describes motherhood very well.
“At one point my wife was changing diapers and then she disappeared,” began his story under a photo of his wife sleeping on the floor next to the crib.
While feeding the children, he noticed that he could no longer see his wife. At first he thought he was putting away toys with the children. He was worried when she was not out of the nursery even after a few minutes. He decided to check where she was. When he approached the children's room, he could only see her feet behind the closed door.
"My heart started pounding. I wondered if she was still alive at all,” he wrote and admitted that at that moment he felt goosebumps all over his body. Since his wife never stops for a second, the sight of her lying on the ground shocked him even more.
As he approached her, he realized that she was breathing, and that she had actually fallen asleep, exhausted from fatigue. He covered her and put a pillow under her head and let her sleep. After only 20 minutes, the wife woke up and went back to work.
She later admitted to him that at that time she was so tired that the floor looked like a luxurious bed in which she just wanted to sleep.
"Darling, you always give one hundred percent of yourself. It's good to see that you got some rest," he said to her.
His post sparked many comments, but also an important topic. Many mothers admitted that they themselves often feel this kind of fatigue, but their environment does not notice it. They agreed that the most important thing in such moments is to have someone who will understand you and allow you to relax.
Being a good parent means taking care of yourself. So the next time you feel tired, take time to rest.
