I promised you that I will be with you, forever!

Forever means consistency. It means stability. It means that you are there for someone, through good times and bad, through pain and joy, through loss and growth, and everywhere in between. This is not promised to everyone, I promised this only to you.

I promised you that I will always stand by your side, that I will be with you when you need me. To be someone you can depend on, trust and lean on when you feel lonely.

I promised you that I would be your friend. That I will answer your call or text as soon as I get it. That I will come to you whenever you need me, if I happen to not be with you. That I will listen when you tell me what is bothering you and that I will protect your secrets.

I promised you that I would love you. That I will love you, especially on the days when you feel broken. Even when you disappoint me or push me away from you. Even on those days when it will be hard to love you. And I will keep that promise.

I promised you that I would always be yours. Even when I won't be by your side, through anger, fear, pain. I can't promise you perfection, I only promised you myself. My attention, laughter, soul, heart. I promised you that I would confide in you all my most vulnerable thoughts, conversations about my dark secrets and yours. All I can give you. And I promise to keep that promise.

Forever is a long time. It feels like hours forever as we piece together the darkest bits and corners of our minds. There are forever thousands of stars traveling in the night sky. Forever is an endless dream. Forever are all the parts of my heart that I can give you, even the ones that are imperfect and cracked. Wounded and sore. It's love for you forever, every moment of the day, even when I'm tired or lonely, scared or weak.

I promised you that I will forever be your love, your friend, the person you need. Maybe forever is a big word, the seven small letters of infinity, but still I promised you them as long as I breathe and my heart beats.
