From electric hypercars to digital concepts and nostalgic throwbacks – Munich will transform into the European automotive capital in September with the IAA 2025 event, where even the Germans may for the first time admit that the Chinese know how to make cars.
Remember when a car show was just a parade of shiny cars and young women with smiles as wide as the front grille? Well, welcome to the year 2025, where you'll be Munich instead of clouds of smoke, expect digital cockpits, artificial intelligence and electric engines that produce more horsepower than the former AMG V8. Between September 9 and 14, the Bavarian capital will host Munich Motor Show 2025 (IAA Mobility / IAA 2025), which this year promises more than just cars – it will be a technological, cultural and almost philosophical experience of the future of mobility.
Aito and Huawei: When the car becomes smarter than its driver
The Chinese tech alliance between Seres and Huawei presents the Aita M5 and M7 – vehicles that make no secret of the fact that they know more about your schedule than you do. And no, we’re not talking about classic navigation – this is Huawei’s UI on wheels, which will suggest the best coffee in Munich before you even feel the caffeine crisis. Let’s be surprised by IAA 2025!
Audi: There's no time for rest in the kingdom of the four circles
Audi is bringing the refreshed Q7 to Munich – a large SUV that doesn’t want to retire, but rather transform. Bigger, smarter and with an interior that’s probably more digital than your living room. We’re also expecting the debut of the new RS6 Avant (a plug-in hybrid, of course) and the possible appearance of an RS5 with an electrified V6 – because adrenaline deserves a few volts too.
And so that nostalgics won't be left empty-handed - a concept is being prepared that pays homage to the legendary TT. In short: the "emo" era is back, this time in the form of an electric sports car.
BMW: New Class, new era
The Bavarians are playing their home game, and they don't disappoint: the new iX3 is here – the first model on a revolutionary platform New Class. Bolder in design, with smaller kidneys (finally!) and an interior that will be more Zen than your favorite yogi. This is not just an SUV, it is BMW's declaration of war on Tesla - with a smile and an electrifying silence.
BYD, Dongfeng, GAC, Leapmotor, Xpeng: Chinese invasion (peaceful this time)
Forget the stereotypes: Chinese manufacturers are ready – with serious models, competitive prices and a design that is no longer just “inspired” by the West. BYD may present Seal 06, GAC its Aion duo, and Leapmotor reveals the final version of the B10 model. And if you still have doubts – the Xpeng P7+ has built-in AI that may understand you better than your therapist. Let's be surprised at IAA 2025!
Mercedes-Benz: Silver Star with an electric aura
Goodbye, EQ! The new electric GLC will carry the “EQ Technology” badge, but don’t let that fool you – up to 490 hp and 650 km of range sound more serious than your average political promise. And if you need even more excitement – Project XX, an electric hypercar with 1,360 hp, will try to redefine the concept of speed.
For space lovers: the VLE prototype is coming - the electric van of the future, in which you will ride like a CEO... on vacation.
Volkswagen: The ID revolution (finally) takes shape
After years of concept chatter, the ID.2 is here – the electric successor to the Polo, ready for the masses. Add the ID.2 X crossover and the new T-Roc hybrid, and you have a trio that could save Volkswagen's electric reputation. With a bit of luck – and even more batteries.
Renault, Opel, Skoda: Europe is responsible
Renault may surprise with a new electric car Twingo, and Opel is bringing back the vision with a digital version of the Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo – yes, even if you don't have a driver's license, you'll drive it in Gran Turismo 7. And Škoda, in its own style, is exhibiting outside the showroom (because why go to a party when you can make your own?) – with Vision O, a new electric station wagon that will continue to delight European families.
Lucid, Polestar, Porsche: The Electric Elite
Lucid Gravity with a range of 450 miles is coming to Europe at a price that will make you think about investing in crypto (again). The Polestar 5 and the mysterious Polestar 7 prototype (the first European model) will raise eyebrows as Porsche electrifies Cayenne – and yes, the petrol version remains. Because you don't just walk past a legend. Of course, Volvo will also be here with the XC70 hybrid. So let's be surprised at the IAA 2025!
Mini, Ford, Smart, Kia, Hyundai: Little giants
Mini remains as mysterious as James Bond on vacation, while Ford may be preparing a comeback with a new compact SUV – the successor to the EcoSport. Smart could finally show what's cooking with the new Fortwo, while Kia and Hyundai announce the EV2 and Ioniq 2 – electric compacts that could become the new kings of city streets.

If you're in Munich in September, don't forget comfortable shoes, an external battery for your phone, and the willingness to fall in love with a car that can be charged with solar energy. Or at least with electricity from a fast charging station.
