IASI - a photo restorer that creates the manifestations of dreams

A girl sailing on a giant fish with a fishing rod in her hand. A clown riding a unicycle on a tightrope over a precipice. A girl on a swing, thousands of meters high. An elephant carrying a resting tiger on trunks. An elderly man with huge eagle wings. These are just some glimpses of the creation of the Romanian artist Caras Ionut, who is a photo mechanic who creates the manifestations of dreams.

Caras Ionut it is Romanian artist, who combines two passions in his work – photo and digital art. It is photographer and "photoshop". He sees the real challenge in the fact that his completely ordinary and realistic photos he inhales with the help of computer techniques a touch of the surreal. The result is that his photo one looks at least twice. But it is still not enough for him to grasp and understand.

He finds digital art as inspiring as any other art. He is only a little older.

If they are his photographs beautiful, just like photographs other photographers, but his "photoshopped" artworks strongly stand out from the average. Also because of the techniques, but mainly because interesting motifs, which are an excess of imagination. Some love his work and enroll in his courses and workshops, while others are critical of this type of art. As he says, it is extremely important for him to create for himself and for his soul, even if it means that others will not respect his work. Digital tools are essential to his art and he says that without them he is "barefoot". Digital art he finds art as inspiring as any other. He is only a little older.

Night brings dreams. Dreams bring ideas.

Caras Ionut, born in the late seventies, photo loves since childhood. He has no formal education in this field, he finished high school and then worked in a variety of jobs. Among other things, he was a fisherman for fourteen years. In the field where he shines today, he is "self-taught with joy and passion for life", as he describes himself: "I like to travel, I like life, I like to do crazy things." I like to talk to strangers as if they are my close friends, I like to dance and shout in the street. I have no problems expressing myself." Although he also says that he is a completely simple guy, his photos, at least some of them, are far from simple. They are the fruit of imagination and dreams. When he runs out of ideas, he gets nervous. But at the same time, he knows that the night will bring new dreams, new ideas.

Sometimes photography inspires art, and sometimes it's the other way around

While the whole world seems to be waiting for spring and summer,  Caras Ionut he finds inspiration for his work in the colors of autumn and winter, in cooler and fresher weather. Maybe that's why his artwork seems a little melancholic, there's a lot of it white and blue, the colors are muted and calm, like the calm seasons that inspire the restoration of the paintings. "photo mechanic'' – he says it's his profession. Works come from his workshop through different routes. Sometimes photograph it inspires his art, and sometimes it's the other way around. When, when takes photos, already thinking about how he could use this in photoshop. Sometimes it happens that he is already working on something in photoshop and he is missing one detail. Then he goes hunting for him with his camera. But sometimes he doesn't even understand what he's photographing, he just feels that the time will come when this too will be useful. Caras Ionut he likes to imagine that he is hunting in his works a dream. If the dream is surreal, deep, melancholic, magical, slightly bizarre - and it is all of these - then he succeeds very well.

"Wow" effect

Caras Ionut wants his artworks to achieve a "wow" effect and he succeeds very well with the help of digital art. So good that more and more individuals come in contact with him in the desire for this kind of knowledge, for whom he prepares workshops. In order to make it easier for people to understand and love digital art, he also made sure on his website, where we can find the basics and an upgrade on creating digital art.

Caras Ionut

Caras Ionut has been working with digital photography for the past ten years. The camera is his constant companion. He paints subjects from all possible angles, because he never knows which one will come in handy in the further process. He says that he "calls" almost everything he sees. Mostly uses Nikon D600 and Nikon 28-300mm 3.5.-5.6.VR. He finds digital art more difficult than clicking photos. His "renovated" photos are fairy-tale and dreamlike. He likes to peek on the other side of reality, he likes to put his heroes in unnatural positions and often gives them supernatural characteristics. He believes in fairy tales, dreams and miracles, which can certainly be seen in his creations.

When he was once asked what advice he would give to amateur photographers, he said that it is extremely important for an artist to respect the work of other artists, to be able to accept criticism with a smile, and to take pictures again and again and again...
