IBM has unveiled the world's smallest computer

Innovation is not for mere mortals.

The development of technological devices follows the belief that as many functions as possible should be contained in the smallest possible housing. With the launch of a new computer, IBM is following this to the letter.

Company IBM, which is known as the first company to release a personal computer on the market, this time surprised with a very special innovation. Their new computer in size 1 x 1 mm is smaller than a grain of salt. So it will soon be possible to mark it as the smallest computer in the world. For now, this title still belongs to the computer Michigan Micro Mote, whose length and width measure 2 mm.

She will run the computer photovoltaic cell. They will take care of communication with the outside world light emitting diodes and photo detector.

The specifications of the IBM computer are not yet known exactly. I should have  processor with several hundred transistors, which is equivalent in power to an x86 processor from 1990, and SRAM memory card. What does that mean? For example, the computer will be able to run the original model of the computer game Doom. The chip it will have is designed by the company primarily for the sake of development blockchain technology.
