Have you recently found yourself in an uncomfortable situation where you couldn't think of a solution to a problem? It's okay, your creative streak may have taken a break, but with a simple trick you can rekindle it.
The solution is really simple. Scientists have discovered that drinking large amounts of tea has an effect on increased creativity in people.
Research titled Drinking tea improves the ability to think creatively (Drinking tea improves the performance of divergent creativity) was published in the journal Food Quality and Preference.
It was based on two experiments, in which researchers observed the creativity of people divided into two groups. The first group drank water and the second drank tea before testing.
In the first experiment, the participants had to build a building out of cubes. A group of people who drank tea a few minutes before performing the task showed better results in this task from spatial creativity.
The second experiment dealt with semantic creativity. The participants had to find as many imaginative names as possible for restaurants that carry symbolic meaning. Tea drinkers fared better this time as well.
The next time you need to think of creative solutions at work, first have a cup of tea and then start working. In this way, you will be able to check whether the research finding is correct.
