If you want to grow, you need to actively work on yourself!

For some reason, we sometimes get stuck in the same cycles for months, years, even decades. We stay in bad relationships, participate in bad habits, maintain bad friendships and work in bad environments.

Let's hold on to the hope that things will magically improve at some indeterminate point in the future. We tell ourselves that it won't always be this way while doing nothing to change what is wrong. Sometimes we don't even think long enough to figure out what's wrong.

We know we are unhappy

We know we don't want to continue living like this. But we can't pinpoint what's bothering us because we're constantly doing something, maybe just mindlessly scrolling through social media hoping to distract ourselves from the pain for a few minutes.

These feelings are unpleasant

We want to push them deep inside. We ignore them completely until they erupt in anger over something completely unimportant, such as when we accidentally spill our coffee.

Sometimes all you have to do is keep moving forward to get through the tough times in your life. All you have to do is keep going because the end point is in sight. Most of the time, however, you have to play an active role in the change.

In most cases, you need to do more than just wait and think about how miserable you are
You need to take action. You need to figure out what steps you can take to improve your life. You need to figure out if you are really ready to change or if you would rather continue this pointless cycle.

To grow, you must commit to change

You have to take risks. You have to say goodbye to the life you are living right now - which is scary. Even if you're miserable, you're probably comfortable in one way or another. You know what each day will bring. You know what to expect. You know what will bother you and how you will react. Even the most unpleasant parts of your life are predictable—and unpredictability is scary.

Although the change could lead to a much happier life, there was no guarantee that it would

We could be so miserable. You could end up struggling with pain and disappointment. You think risk is a big mistake. Unfortunately, you will never get rid of these doubts. There are no promises that change will fix everything that is wrong with your current life. But you have to ask yourself, are you happy now? Are you satisfied with the way you live?

Things will get better - but not by themselves. You have to make an effort. You have to decide if you want to actively change and grow personally!
