We are still a little away from the glittering presentations of the Los Angeles Auto Show, where we will be able to see a lot of interesting things. As is usual, some manufacturers rush with so-called teasers and reveal some little thing even before the official presentation. Infiniti has been quite generous with its QX50, and so we already have some details on the unique new engine.
Infiniti QX50 is the first car in the world to use a z engine variable compression levels. That means it is 2 liter turbo petrol engine capable automatically adjust compression in the engine. With this you can optimizes both power like efficiency and it has the same amount of torque, as a diesel engine of the same volume has. The power of the new engine is 268 horsepower and it has 380 Nm of torque, which means that the Infiniti engine is currently on first place in the class. Infiniti QX50 needs from 0 to 100 km/h 6.3 seconds, has four-wheel drive and reaches maximum speed 230 km/h. Compared to the previous 6-cylinder engine, the new one has 35 % improved efficiency.
Otherwise it will Infiniti QX50 (2019) built on a completely new platform, which is more rigid for 23 %, if we compare it with the current model. It will be equipped with a new one Nissan's ProPilot system, which takes care of automatic braking, acceleration and driving in the middle of the lane on the highway. The new Infiniti QX50 will go on sale soon after the start of next year.
