"U Ljubljan', pr Šestic', there is one cute girl," says the Slovenian national song. And if a restaurant is mentioned in a national song, then it must be something special. And Šestica is certainly special, because the first appearance of the house was already in 1670, when Janez Vajkard Valvasor captured it as an eternal memory and a clear picture of Ljubljana. Šestica can be proud of its culinary tradition since 1776, when it was taken over by an innkeeper, then covered with straw and modest in appearance, at Avguštinska Street 6, after which it also got its name. Šestica is the album of three centuries, an old woman with an eternally young face, as they call her. It has developed from a former postilion, through a coachman's inn, a tavern, a house for travelers and an inn of too many owners, into a modern restaurant, where the local cuisine of the past and new culinary guidelines come together. Homemade bread and homemade pasta will await us every day in Šestica, while old recipes are the framework for the cuisine of the new era. The entire philosophy of Šestica is based on homeliness, respect for the guest, in short on "Sloveneness", whether it is a daily lunch, a celebratory dinner or just a snack that we enjoy in the center of Ljubljana.
