The increasingly topical issue of gender encourages active reflection on equality, solidarity and diversity. Hence the City of Women, which since 1995 has been trying to support the most engaging events that encourage social change during five October days, this year from the 4th to the 8th. If you want a better society, the first week in October is reserved for events that open new perspectives on an equal world.
In October 1995, they organized for the first time International Festival of Contemporary Arts - City of Women, with which the organizers take care of promotion of women in culture. Every time they host from 40 to 60 female artists and theorist, who devote themselves central themes, which encourages dialogue, new insights and lively discussion between them and the audience.
City of Women is a festival that represents female artists from all over the world – they take place on it visiting guest artists in Slovenia and abroad - and presents a rich program of accompanying events outside the festival framework. In order to achieve your goal, at the festival they offer a diverse and controversial program in different parts of the city that mixes audiences.
Even this year's five intense festival days, which include exhibitions, performances by foreign and domestic artists, talks, workshops, socializing and music, as well as a series of events, promotes understanding of cultural identity and contemporary theory.
