It's still quite warm outside, but we already know when the festive lights are switched on in Ljubljana 2019. It will be in a good month! Maybe it will snow then, and can we at least hope for the cold, so that the atmosphere at such a fairy-tale event as the lighting of the Christmas lights will be perfect?
Lighting of the festive lights in Ljubljana 2019 will take place this year November 29 at 5:15 p.m on Prešeren Square, i.e. a day earlier than last year. As tradition dictates, the mayor will address the crowd after the cultural program, and then we will witness the moment when Ljubljana will magically shine. At that time, it will also officially begin in the capital holiday program, and they will also "open" with the lights holiday fairs on Breg, on Gallusov, Cankarjev and Petkovškov embankments and on Prešernov and Kongresni trg.
You will be able to buy fashion accessories, products by Slovenian designers, hats, gloves, scarves, home and handicraft products, Slovenian culinary products, desserts, honey, brandy and holiday souvenirs. They will accompany the fairs inns with mulled wine, hot tea, liqueurs and an offer of sausages, grilled dishes and other food, which will also be spread throughout the old town this year.
