The ski center near Sarajevo is known to all of us who, as children or adults, held our breath at the success of Jure Frank and his skiing colleagues, when they achieved success at the Winter Olympics in Sarajevo in 1984 and brought us the first Olympic medal in the former country.
After the devastation of war Jahorina again attracts skiers from all over the former country. The approximately 20 kilometers of ski tracks are not among the longest, the terrains are not among the steepest, but the atmosphere on the ski resort and in restaurants, clubs and bars from Mulberries to Sarajevo, 30 kilometers away, is unprecedented.
Ski center is developing more every year, today nine lifts can transport more than ten thousand skiers in one hour, snow cover is guaranteed from October to May, if there is not enough natural snow, they have devices for making artificial snow. So, skiing is guaranteed, and between December 12 and 15, the season of wild fun will also begin. The opening weekend, called the Snow Show, will also attract DJs, turbo folk musicians, pop musicians and, of course, a lot of fun-seekers from Slovenia to Serbia to the ski resorts.
