Retro charm, electric drive and... a woven baguette holder? The Renault 4 E-Tech (2025) is back and it's not exactly cheap. But maybe that's why it's even more appealing. European prices for the legendary Renault 4 are known!

Famous European prices for the legendary Renault 4! Renault is for its iconic R4 prepared a fully electric reincarnation – and with it a rather “ambitious” price list. Basic version "Urban Range" (40 kWh, 120 HP) in Germany it starts at 29.400 €, while more powerful "Comfort Range" (52 kWh, 150 HP) jump to 32.400 €.

Three equipment packages – Evolution, Techno and Iconic – follow a clear logic: more comfort, more technology, more euros. The basic Evolution already offers quite solid equipment (10-inch infotainment with Google integration, rearview camera), the Techno adds navigation, induction charging and fancier upholstery. Iconic but it goes even further: an electric trunk, heated seats, smart sensors and details that will make your neighbors a little jealous.

Price jump between packages? Around 2.000 € between each, meaning a fully equipped Renault 4 could cost you as much as 38.000 €Let's look at other known European prices for the legendary Renault 4. Or rather, the details.

The most “shocking” option? The roof. And what else?

Among more than 600 accessory combinations there are some really interesting accessories hidden – for example, an electric canvas roof "Plein Sud", which briefly turns the R4 into a quasi-convertible. It won't be available until later in 2025, and only with a more powerful battery. Price? Around €1,200.

And now we come to the real French perversion: woven baguette holder. No, we're not kidding. Renault offers this ingenious accessory as part of its “Refactory” line of 3D-printed accessories. When you want to be environmentally conscious and culturally refined.

What about the competition?

The R4 E-Tech stands alongside models such as Fiat 500e and Jeep Avenger, but offers more space and a retro SUV body. Fiat is generally cheaper – sometimes 25.000 € with promotions – but less range. Jeep Avenger – in many ways identical and a real competitor. Also in price.

This is how the Renault 4 finds itself between urban retro electrics and “serious” electric crossovers, such as Fiat 600e, Jeep Avenger or even VW ID.3With its price (up to €38,000), it is almost breathing by the collar. Tesla Model 3. But hey – Tesla doesn't have a baguette, right?

And Slovenia? The country from which the author of this post comes...

Although we don't have an official price list yet, everything indicates that the R4 E-Tech will start in our country at around €30,000and with full equipment he rushed towards 40.000 €From a price-to-usability perspective, this means a compromise – the basic models aren't exactly "family-friendly" workhorses, but with their charm and retro design, they aim for the hearts (and wallets) of urban romantics.

Does nostalgia really justify the price?

The Renault 4 E-Tech (2025) isn't trying to be the cheapest EV, but the most charismaticIn an age where cars are becoming increasingly similar, the R4 stands out – even if it costs a few euros more. But if you’re looking for something to make your everyday life a little more enjoyable – and I don’t just mean a soft top or infotainment – then the Renault 4 might be your little electric “joie de vivre”.

But no dew in the eyes: With the new “R4”, Renault has seriously hit the third generation of its e-mobility – but not quite where it should have been. Realistically? The battery should have at least 60 kWhto make R4 truly useful also outside the city bubbleHe doesn't like motorways, because it's not just the range that's a problem - it's also DC charging speed (modest) and shortage 22 kW AC charging (i.e. for home and city filling stations) leave a bitter aftertaste.

And then there are the security concerns – R4 did not get all stars in the NCAP test, which is a big red flag for a family-oriented crossover at this price. Safety was a Renault hallmark, but now it's... well...

And speaking of price: for almost the same amount you can get entry-level Tesla Model 3, which gives you everything – range, safety, technology… except nostalgia. But maybe that’s exactly what French paradox e-mobility: driving a car that's not perfect, but still finding something in it that you can't quite explain - except with a simple "because it's just cool".

R4 is back. And while it's not perfect, it's convincing.
