Laptop, chromebook or tablet: what should I choose?

A lot of choice often leads to more gray hairs. Especially when the things to choose from are relatively similar. This is now also the case with computing devices. Until recently, we only had a mobile phone and a computer at our disposal, but now there is a huge amount of 'grey area' in between. In addition to a smartphone, we usually need a laptop, a tablet, and recently the popular chromebook. What are the differences between them and what you should know before you decide to buy, read below.

Laptop, chromebook or tablet: what should I choose? A familiar dilemma? Then read on. Here are some things you should know, before you decide to buy.

Tablet

Tablets they are extremely practical, as they do not take up much space, they are quite light and easy to use. They're also great for reading, whether it's online news, email, PDFs, e-books, or comics. Compared to chromebooks have tablet screens better resolution. Even otherwise, the screen is the most important element of the tablet. For comfortable use, we recommend at least 9-inch. Regarding the resolution, follow the principle that the bigger the better. Apple's Retina display is in a class of its own and with a density of 264 dots per inch it has no rival, but even those with a resolution of 1280 x 800 or similar are worth considering. In general, however, higher resolution means a sharper and more natural image. It is also recommended that he has USB-connector and slot for memory cards SD, which will make it easier to connect to other devices, transfer data, and view and save photos. If you don't spend a lot of time on the keyboard and need a bigger screen than your smartphone, then a tablet is the right solution.

Chromebooks

Chromebook laptops with Google's mobile operating system Chrome OS are increasingly popular. When it's Google published first chromebook, we could not yet imagine what it means to have a computer that 'lives' only on a web browser. Even the low price confused us more than not. How can a laptop for a fifth of the price compete with various MacBooks, etc. (?) Well, in fact, in many cases it can. After all, we're just surfing the web almost all the time, right? So Chromebook for relative little money offers quite a lot. Therefore, it is not surprising that leading computer companies are constantly preparing new models of these laptops. New ones Samsung's Chromebook Pro it already supports some Android applications, has 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of disk space. Almost a real computer. Well, they still can't be compared to real computers, but the prices of chromebooks are so affordable (inc 200 euros and 500 euros), that this option should also be considered.

Laptop

If your job requires more than reading e-books and surfing the web, then it will not be difficult to decide. Laptops, as we know them, are desktop computers that can be carried with us. Compared to tablets or chromebooks they have significantly more capacity. However, choosing between them can cause quite a few headaches for you, as they are available in all types, shapes, capacities and prices. Pay attention to the size. Laptops with a screen larger than 15.6 inches, are very large and quite 'awkward', while those with a screen 13.3 inches smaller, lighter, with a long-lasting battery, but also unsuitable for e.g. more demanding graphic processing. If you're an average user, take the middle route and go for a 15.6-inch laptop. Of course, then there is memory size, processor speed, disk size and other features that you have to adjust to your needs.
