Le Haut Perché: a shelter for hitchhikers

If your path ever takes you to the French countryside around Bordeaux and you travel with your thumb up, pay attention to the wooden pavilions "stuck" on wooden pillars. These are your lodgings. The water tower-like bivouacs are available for free and are just what hitchhikers and hikers need after a long day.

French collective of artists and architects Bruit de Frigo, which takes care of the construction of shelters around French cities, is with a London studio Weave designed shelters or bedrooms in the Bordeaux area. The purpose of the project is not to offer accommodation to the homeless, but to encourage people from cities to explore and visit their surroundings. They also built footpaths and placed next to them 12 bedroom cottages, in which he can sleep at once 9 people. Le Haut Perché, as they did at Weav named, it is a replica of the water tower typical of the post-war period. It's designed so you can enjoy the view on all sides, even when sitting, standing or lying down. Steep metal stairs lead you to the wooden space.
