Lego McLaren Senna: do you have enough bricks and especially time to build it?

Lego McLaren Senna

This time, McLaren surprised us with a toy for small and large children. It will be possible to see it at McLaren events, and the easiest way is at the British Goodwood Festival of Speed, which will be held in July. It is a replica of the McLaren Senna car, where no dice were spared to conjure up the supercar with all its extraordinary details.

McLaren Senna is the latest supercar to get its own life-size LEGO replica. This is a real feast for the eyes and is enjoyed by children and adults alike. It takes just 467,854 cubes, which together weigh 1,700 kilograms. That's it 500 kilograms more, as the 'original' Senna weighs. The driver's seat, steering wheel and pedals are from the real car, while the rest of the interior is made from blocks. The door is completely functional and they open like a real car, the headlights are also functional. When the engine start button is pressed, we hear a sound video thunder V8 cylinder. To create Lego Senna, it is 10 people spent 4,935 working hours. 2,210 hours for planning and 2,725 hours for assembling cubes. By comparison, they build a real McLaren Senna 'only' 300 working hours.

The LEGO McLaren Senna is even more sophisticated than its LEGO predecessor, the McLaren 720S. This one was made from 'merely' 267,300 cubes and no visible interior. They preferred to use it instead gray cubes for making windows and thus covered up empty interior.
