“Functionality is overrated! Furniture becomes much more interesting if it is not perfect or fulfills its task only partially." This is the approach chosen by designer Lennart Van Uffelen for the latest collection, who, as its title suggests, played with broken shapes.
What makes the furniture priceless is usually his emotional value in non-emotional connection with its functionality. Belgian designer Lennart Van Uffelen he thus set out to play with the aforementioned boundaries, which led him to exploring oneself as a designer and at the same time the owner of an interior piece. As he says, it's important to create a strong bond between the consumer and the product, which is equally based on both humor and images, as well as usability.
His collection titled "Functionality kills fun" consist of a broken chair with the illusion of sinking into the ground, Bookshelf, bent by a strong force, a mirror, which despite the crack still provides the primary functionality of reflection, fun table, whose leg was cut off and replaced by an ax and dismembered drawer.
