LG has added active noise cancellation to its new LG Tone Free FN7 wireless earbuds, but they have kept the housing of their predecessors, which kills germs and thus disinfects the headphones.
LG's new wireless earbuds Tone Free FN7, successors to the critically acclaimed FN6, retain the same germ-killing capabilities thanks to the built-in UV light in the charging case. According to the manufacturer, this can kills 99.9 percent of E.coli and S.aureus bacteria, which are located on the inner mesh of the studs. The novelty of the case is the LED lighting on the outside, which more clearly shows the remaining battery life.
Otherwise, the FN7s look very similar to the FN6s – they have silicone earplugs and a Vortex Ribs design that is supposed to increase passive noise isolation. Three microphones are hidden inside, which "they track sound waves coming from all directions" and eliminate background noise. "With ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) activated, ambient sounds are almost completely neutralized, making every note and every voice clearer, more natural, without losing detail or turning the volume up to maximum," says LG in a press release.
Battery life is rated at up to five hours with ANC enabled and for seven hours if it is turned off (with the case, this is 15 hours with ANC and 21 without).
Like its predecessors, the FN7 has also been tuned Meridian, and headphones can "they create a realistic soundstage that simulates the experience of listening to speakers, while delivering vocals with pristine clarity that the listener can fully immerse themselves in." LG also offers an EQ adjustment and says the bass is fuller and richer than before.
LG's new wireless headphones face a wave of noise-canceling competition, including new Jabra Elite 85T, Bose's QuietComfort, True Wireless ANC by 1More and of course with Apple AirPods Pro. Currently, the LG Tone Free FN7 headphones are only available in South Korea, but are expected to arrive before the end of the year also to the European market.
PS: You can currently buy the predecessors, i.e. the LG Tone Free FN6 20 percent cheaper!
