On November 7, 8,000 light balloons will glow at the same time over sixteen kilometers of the former location of the Berlin Wall. The Lichtgrenze art project will mark the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall in an interesting way.
In 1961, the Berlin Wall cruelly separated West Germany from East Germany, and with it all of Europe. This year marks 25 years, since tearing down that unnatural East-West divide in 1989. On this occasion, they film director Marc Bauder and light artist Christopher Bauder prepared the project Lichtgrenze ("light border") and built a new Berlin Wall, only in a slightly different form.

Instead of concrete and wire, it will be on good ones sixteen kilometers, where the Berlin Wall used to run, On November 7, 8,000 light balloons lit up at the same time. Just as the real Berlin Wall was erected practically overnight, this one will also be erected quickly in a symbolic sense. Light balloons will illuminate Berlin two days, during which many personal stories, testimonies and historical data from the time of the Berlin Wall will be on display for passers-by. On November 9 at 7 p.m., thousands of volunteers will attach their personal messages to balloons and release them into the sky. All the balloons will decompose on their own in an environmentally friendly way, which was ensured by the scientists at the University of Hannover, who designed the balloons.
