LJFW 2016: What do the designers themselves say about the fashion collections?
ZOOFA (PATRICIA PIE, ZELOLEPO, JSP, PRINCIP by Mojca Celin, NELIZABETA, NI – never identical/never identical, Renata Bedene, Firma by Sanja, Simona Kogovšek, tinapavlin and vesnastich); collection name: Urban nomads
"We are the heroes of the present who shape the future. Nothing binds us to objects, places, people anymore. We feel at home everywhere. We are traveling on a path that leads nowhere. We carry our lives in our leather borschts because we don't like plastic. We only read digital newspapers because we care about trees. Handmade from natural materials, our dresses last for decades. We are inhabitants of the world, eternal travelers, sincere friends, free as birds in a world without borders. We are urban nomads.”
Tina Gorkič (Tina Gorkič); collection name: AISHA
"Aisha. Woman, life, being alive. The Aisha collection highlights African women and their daily battles for gender equality. The fundamental point of departure is the question of the identity and position of women in Africa and their proof against the male gender. The search for meaning and symbols has led me to combine different colors, patterns and textures, with a strong emphasis on materials. The collection is more focused on textile design." Tina Gorkič, as a student of the Faculty of Science and Technology in Ljubljana, won the presentation prize at the following fashion week at the April LJFW, so this time she presented her own collection.

MiroMisljen (MiroMisljen); collection name: The Loves of Vincent Van Gogh
"Longing for a woman who rejected him because she didn't love him, longing for a self-interested prostitute, longing for girls from the avenues of Paris. A genius who failed to fulfill a strong desire for realized love, an artist with an unfulfilled heart. The inspiration of my new collection are women who did not fulfill the longing heart of the artist. In the design of the women's collection for 2017, I combined various female characters and brought into it the strength and qualities of the painter's canvases, especially disproportionality."
EBER fur industry (Mateja Štimac); collection name: MIX & MATCH PART II
"Combine and mix until the perfect combination is created: the EBER fur collection autumn-winter 2016/17 is based on the concept patchwork. In order to achieve unique matches that would further emphasize the uniqueness of each piece in the collection, we mixed different colors and textures of the same or different types of fur; we also combined leather and fur and knitwear and fur. The boldness of the EBER fur collection is also reflected in the mixing of colors, which makes it suitable for different styles: combining for casual, elegant and bold and trendy style. The clothes created in this way are perfect for everyone who remains true to their personal style, but is always looking for something special."
