Among the many interesting events at the Ljubljana Festival, one of the highlights will certainly be one of the most famous musicals - Evita.
Evita is a musical about life, fame, charity and death Eva Perón, the second wife of Argentine President Juan Perón. The musical was written by a famous Andrew Lloyd Webber, and he contributed the lyrics Tim Rice. The very first production of the musical in a London theater in the legendary West End of the city won the Laurence Olivier Award as the best musical, and a year later on Broadway the musical (as the first in Britain) won the award Tony. From there, Evita went out into the world and onto movie screens. The musical itself was staged again in 2006 in London and in 2012 on Broadway.
