Look at what cute animals have hatched in Vienna's Schönbrunn Zoo!
V Vienna Zoo Schönbrunn it hatched in mid-April eleven baby rock penguins, which are a highly endangered animal species in nature. It currently lives in European zoos only 96 northern rock penguins, the largest colony with 45 adult animals but they are right in Vienna. After 33 days of hatching was born in the oldest zoo in the world eleven baby rock penguins, which are recognizable by the bright yellow protruding feathers on the head. The parents alternately take care of the growth and keep the puppies warm and fed with already digested food.

Schönbrunn Zoo is the only zoo in the world where this animal species is successfully bred every year, as they simulate the light and climate conditions of their natural environment and thus provide them optimal living conditions. Since the opening of the polararium in 2004, 41 puppies of this endangered animal species have already been sent to other gardens. "With our many years of breeding experience, we also want to help other gardens breed colonies that will be successful in growing," said Dagmar Schratter, director of the Vienna Zoo, which leads the European Breeding Program (EEP) for this penguin species. The breeding of rock penguins in zoos is very important because it is their species is endangered in nature.
